NEIGHBORHOOD DINING SITE COORDINATOR – POSITIONS AVAILABLE (Ormond Beach & Deltona)

COA is announcing vacancies at the Ormond Beach and Deltona Neighborhood Dining Sites. These positions are eligible for COA benefits. Current hours are 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for orderly and compliant meal delivery to Meals on Wheels recipients and meal service to Neighborhood Meals Site clients. Organizes and coordinates dining site activities and supervises all respective volunteers. Responsible for covering meal route(s), if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the accurate ordering of weekly meals for home delivered and congregate dining clients to avoid overage.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate paperwork including but not limited to: monitoring forms, rosters and reservation logs, client folders, volunteer paperwork and supply orders.
  • Must be familiar with the goals and objectives of the Older Americans Act and share responsibility for meeting annual goals of meals served and donations collected.
  • Establish a cooperative working relationship with department head and be receptive to, participate in, develop, and be willing to implement new and innovative ideas regarding meal site activities.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with COA’s Volunteer Recruiter/Coordinator for the recruitment and enlistment of volunteers serving as activity leaders, drivers, servers and site aides, and provide adequate training to those volunteers recruited.
  • Initiate and maintain a community outreach program to enlist volunteers.
  • Supervise and assist volunteers with the accurate portioning of meals and other duties pertaining to the program in order for the site to operate efficiently, meeting grant objectives.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Solid computer skills are a MUST for this position. Knowledge of MS Office is required, as are the operating skills of office equipment such as copiers, printers, scanners and fax machines.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and appropriate levels of insurance coverage
  • Flexibility to changing priorities
  • Customer-service oriented; be flexible and punctual; team player
  •  For the Deltona site, Spanish/English bilingual skills are strongly preferred

SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR – Ormond Beach

COA is announcing an upcoming vacancy at the Ormond Beach Senior Activities Center. This position will be eligible for COA benefits. Hours are typically 9 am – 4 pm (may change occasionally based on special event needs), Monday-Friday, 35-40 Hours per Week with Benefits. 

JOB SUMMARY:  Develop and supervise/execute activities and programs for the Senior Center in cooperation with COA staff. Responsible for supervising the Meals on Wheels and Neighborhood Dining programs in the absence of the Dining Site Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and coordinate activities, special events, and educational programs for the senior population with emphasis on health, nutrition, and wellbeing. Support COA special events and fundraising efforts with center’s members.
  • Work as a team member with other COA Senior Center Activities Coordinators.
  • Coordinate and supervise the use of all recreation equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Manage all non-client administrative functions of operating the center to include clerical duties as necessary
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals set for center (financial, recreational, donation collection and memberships).
  • Maintain membership database.

BILINGUAL CASE MANAGER

Are you a talented, dedicated, and career-minded individual with verbal and written proficiency in both English and Spanish? COA is hiring for a case manager position that involves assessing client needs, providing clients with a single entry point into the Community Care System, and monitoring the effectiveness of provided services. A four year degree in a related field is required.  

While the case manager will be based out of our Daytona Beach administrative office, this employee will work primarily with clients on the west side of Volusia County. Reliable transportation is a must! 

This is a full-time non-exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $15.39 per hour and benefit eligibility such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a matching 403(b) retirement plan. Mileage between clients’ homes is paid.

HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR 

Plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of COA’s Human Resource (HR) Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Duties include the following:  Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff. Oversee the daily workflow of the department. Conduct performance evaluations. Collaborate with senior leadership to understand COA’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Administer or oversee the administration of Human Resource programs. Identify staffing and recruiting needs. Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends. Monitor and ensure COA’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices. Develop and implement departmental budget. Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff. 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. At least 5 years of HR management experience; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and negotiation skills. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.  Annual salary is $65,000 – $70,000 with benefits.
